  13. In this show we interviewed a privileged Hollywood heir that knows nothing about poverty and the daily struggles of the poverty class.

    1. Dear Mr. work email. You’re absolutely right. Willow Smith is privileged, but not in the way you think. If having money is the only criterion for being privileged, then why did Robin Williams and so many other celebrities commit suicide throughout history. According to logic, it’s because there are two kinds of riches: riches on the outside and riches on the inside. Even if we’re not rich on the outside but if we’re rich on the inside, then we’ll remain happy. On the other hand, even if we’re rich on the outside but if we’re not rich on the inside, then we’ll remain unhappy.

      Similarly, people only appreciate things they can see and can’t appreciate things they can’t see. For example, we can see credit cards, checks, cash and a volt of gold, but we can’t see humility, appreciation, forgiveness and a heart of gold. However, as proven throughout the history of mankind, corrupt people who haven’t acquired humility, appreciation, forgiveness and a heart of gold can’t keep their credit cards, checks, cash and a volt of gold. Hence, the “ME TOO MOVEMENT” for example.

      For arguments sake, even if corrupt people could keep their volt of gold on the outside, but if they don’t have a heart of gold on the inside, then they can’t keep their happiness or peace of mind because they’re always proud, envious, vengeful and fearful, fearful that the law will catch up to their corrupt deeds. In other words, if we have money on the outside, but don’t have any peace on the inside, can we really say we live a privilege life. 

      Just as thieves enter our house and steal our material wealth, so also if we’re not spiritual rich humility, appreciation, forgiveness and faith, then the thieves of pride, envy, vengeance and fear will enter of the fortress of our mind and steal our most prized possession, namely our peace and happiness.

      Therefore, an unknown author once said, “You’d never invite a thief into your house. So why would you allow thoughts that steal your joy to make themselves at home in your mind?”

      Similarly, Woodrow Wilson said, “If you lose your wealth, you have lost nothing; if you lose your health, you have lost something; but if you lose your character, you have lost everything.”

      The conclusion is that in the dictionary, the word “poverty” isn’t a synonym for “good person,” and the word “wealthy” isn’t a synonym for “bad person.” Even if we’re materially poor, our peace of mind can still be stolen by the thieves of envy, vengeance and attitude, whereas even if we’re materially rich, our peace of mind can still be protected by the guards of humility, forgiveness and gratitude. Furthermore, in the ancient Sanskrit book of wisdom known as the Srimad-Bhagavatam (11.2.30), it describes that the real criterion for being privileged is to gain the association of a spiritual philanthropist like Willow gained Jahnavi, and in this verse from the Srimad-Bhagavatam, it’s described that gaining this kind of association is “A PRICELESS TREASURE FOR ANY MAN.”

      Therefore, Mr. work email, I’m sincerely requesting you to study these ancient Sanskrit books of wisdom such as Srimad-Bhagavatam, Bhagavad-Gita and Caitanya-caritamrta by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada to become spiritually privileged like Willow Smith. If not, then we’ll all remain spiritually poor and miserable, including myself.

      For example, how do we know that a person’s material wealth was stolen? Because they’ll start screaming, cursing and slandering. Similarly, how do we know a person’s spiritual wealth was stolen? Because they’ll start screaming, cursing and slandering. Just as we cannot expect words of wisdom to come out of the mouth of someone whose material wealth is stolen, so also the same may analogously be applied to someone whose spiritual wealth is stolen. 

      Therefore, the ancient Greek philosopher, Plato, once said, “Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.”

Very Inspirational interview and as was beautifully said in the beginning, Jahnavi and Willow were destined to meet, regardless of the medium, but as Willow and Jahnavi humbly said, credit should be given where credit is due, namely to Jay and Radhi. This reminds me of an unknown author who says, “AN INVISIBLE THREAD CONNECTS THOSE WHO ARE DESTINED TO MEET, REGARDLESS OF TIME, PLACE, OR CIRCUMSTANCE. THE THREAD MAY STRETCH OR TANGLE, BUT WILL NEVER BREAK.”

    For example, as described in Srila Prabhupada’s purport to the Srimad-Bhagavatam (1.9.6-7), in Krishna-lila, Narada Muni and Parvarta Muni were best friends, and as explained in Srila Prabhupada’s commentary to the Caitanya-caritamrta (Adi 12.65), in Caitanya-lila, Narada Muni was born as Srivasa Thakura and Parvata Muni was born as Srirama Pandita and they were now brothers in this lifetime. Before I became a devotee, I would read past-life regression books by a famous psychiatrist named Brian L. Weiss, and he wrote a book regarding this subject matter called “Only Love Is Real.”

    Also one of my favourite points in this interview is I believe Jahnavi was asked “What does collaboration mean to you?” and she said “Listening” and this answer resonated with Willow. This is one of my favourite points from Caitanya-lila as follows.

    It’s described in the Caitanya-caritamrta (Madhya 6.123) that Lord Caitanya listened to a Mayavadi philosopher named Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya for seven days straight without leaving, without interrupting him, without rolling his eyes, without physically covering his ears or without surfing the net with his iPhone. Indeed, Lord Caitanya eventually converted Sarvabhauma to Vaisnavism without practically saying a word, whereas we can’t convert others to Vaisnavism even by speaking thousands of words. In other words, Lord Caitanya taught us that a truly learned person isn’t one who enthusiastically preaches on the outside, but one who’s enthusiastically patient on the inside.

    Therefore, Joyce Meyer said, “Patience is not the ability to wait but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.”

    Similarly, in his Dhammapada (verse 258), Buddha said, “A man is not learned because he talks much; he who is PATIENT, free from hatred and fear, he is called learned.”

    Of course, it’s easy to be Patient and listen to rich, famous and powerful people, and I’m sure Willow has experienced many insincere people throughout her life who only try to talk to her because she’s rich, famous and powerful, but it doesn’t take much research on social media to see that Jahnavi has powerfully influenced the lives of so many people, and was patient with so many people whether they were rich or not so rich, famous or not so famous, powerful or not so powerful.

    Therefore, Samuel Johnson said, “The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.”

    Similarly, Maya Angelou beautifully said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

    Finally, it should be pointed out that from an external point of view, although Lord Caitanya appeared to only listen while Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya spoke, it should be pointed out that LORD CAITANYA WAS JUST AS MUCH SPEAKING TO SARVABHAUMA FOR SEVEN DAYS STRAIT AS MUCH AS HE WAS LISTENING TO HIM FOR SEVEN DAYS STRAIT AS WELL. How? Lord Caitanya was speaking with his actions, and not merely with his words. As the famous saying says, “Actions speak louder than words.” In other words, if Sarvabhauma detected any arrogance or impatience in Lord Caitanya’s disposition, he probably wouldn’t have continued his conversation with the Lord for seven days straight. Indeed, would we continue a conversation with someone who was condescending for seven minutes strait? Of course not.

    Indeed, Lord Caitanya transformed Sarvabhauma merely by speaking with his body language. Why? Because he didn’t overestimate his power to change others. On the other hand, we cannot even transform others by speaking with our verbal language. Why? Because we overestimate our power to change others.

    Therefore, Wayne W. Dyer beautifully said, “Never underestimate your power to change yourself; never overestimate your power to change others.”

    Similarly, consider the following quotes regarding this subject matter:

One of them is because of this: Srila Prabhupada was once talking to a scientist, and he told the scientist, “You are a scientist, you have good brain, but yo cannot manufacture the brain. But who has manufactured your brain?….If you are scientist, you create similar brain like you. That you cannot do. But somebody has created your brain. And who is that person?….We are glorifying the brain of the scientist, but we are not glorifying THE SCIENTIST who has made the brain of the scientist.” This lecture can be heard at the following link:

      Another reason to be humble is what do we know, anything we speak we’re just hearing from others, the only difference is that we try to explain it in our own unique way which Srila Prabhupada encourages us to do in his commentary to the Srimad-Bhagavatam (1.4.1).

      The conclusion is I have many people to be grateful for starting with my mother and brother. What inspired me about my brother regarding this particular topic you’re referring to is whenever my brother would have to hear someone give a Srimad-Bhagavatam class, he would show just as much enthusiasm, respect and participation to the person giving class as when he was giving class himself. Not only that, but one day, when my brother was giving Gita class in our temple, there was literally nobody there but he was still giving class. The next moment, a parishioner walked in and looked at my brother like “Who the hell is he talking too. These people are nuts.” The lesson are got from this incident was this: ANYONE CAN SHOW WHAT THEY’RE MADE OF WHEN EVERYONE IS WATCHING, BUT THE REAL TESTAMENT OF OUR SINCERITY IS TO SHOW WHAT WE’RE MADE OF WHEN NO ONE IS WATCHING. That’s why Srila Bhaktisiddhanta told Srila Prabhupada that if no one comes to hear you speak, preach to the four walls.

      I could say many more things, but I do share almost daily e-mails to people and devotees regarding this wisdom, I’ll leave a link to my twitter account that I just started maybe a few days ago.
