Witchcraft Among The Azande – Once one of the largest tribes in Africa, the Azande kingdom spread across what is now the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Southern Sudan.

The Azande tribe was decimated by the European slave trade and later, the kingdom divided geographically by the colonial rule of Belgium, France, and Anglo-Egyptian Sudan.

In this remarkable documentary, we get close to the practices and beliefs of this powerful tribe.

The documentary series “Disappearing World” was originally broadcasted between 1970-1975.

As an anthropological landmark of its time, the series tells the story of traditional communities endangered by the modern world’s progressions.

The series stands as a historical document of daily life in remote and threatened societies, such as the Cuiva, Embera and Panare Indians of Colombia, the nomadic Tuareg of the Sahara, the Kurdish Dervishes and the Meo of China.

    1. People don’t seem to think about the fact that practices like these were a part of *everyone’s* family life for our first 200,000 years as a species. I have a sneaking suspicion that they all picture their own ancestors as noble paragons of gentility among the cavemen. 😀

    1. @Asha Asteria if its not from the lord Jesus then its from the fallen……

Fallen angels take many forms to be Gods among men…..and history shows that its just that alot of people do not realize it yet

    2. @Anne-droid i do not even know what you are saying anymore……

But i can tell you are mad at your life!

  1. Jesus saves by grace alone, saving sinners like me because he was sinless and resurrected to defeat death.

    1. @†RVSTY TEVSPOON†
Magic is not real, you are delusional. Primitive Mystic Mumbo Jumbo nothing more.

    2. @1nails1 no i was almost tricket by IT…..

But i saw through its lies and the lord saved me….

Now the fallen fear and respects me…..

I did not choose to have faith in GOD…..JESUS SATAN THEY CAME TO ME….

And when i excepted it GOD started to show me more!

      And his is no religion

    3. @Marcus Sparticus thats because magic is real as it is in those times…….

Jesus is not a religion its faith in what he died for and thats YOU

    4. All religion is Evil and responsible for most of the world’s troubles since the foundations of the first cities, they are all Witches, Warlock’s and Wizards no matter what the religious beliefs.

  2. I must say that I am happy they mentioned the tribe name and specified the country in the description and not something vague like “Witchcraft Amongst The Africans”

    1. It’s not just an African thing all races have had things like that going on in the past – it take some longer than others to catch up. I think it was cool looking back at what might have been going on who knows how many years back. again Asian Caucasian Mexicans you name they have all done it just might be 1000 years ago compared to 1995 or whenever that doc was made.

    2. @Jennifer Duffin I was probably unfortunate to have come across the few that didn’t really bother to. 🤣

    3. @emma jones the problem is that usually in western media every time they illustrate any crime or any reportage connected with certain types of traditional practices involving people of African origin or African born or also Black Brazilians or people from Louisiana or Haiti or Caribe black people they refer to those people as “African ” and they refers to the practices as of “African tribal origins ” suggesting all African people and all African tribes are involved in that. African tribes are all very different among each other as all African state is different from another. …Is good to see a documentary highlighting a specific tribal identity connecting its traditional practices just to it.

  3. Amazing how fare Africa has come from tribal society’s to fully fledged modern day nations.
