Whether it is protesters dressed up as witches at demonstrations, or influencers concocting potions on TikTok, there is no denying that witchcraft is having a moment.

Witches have been part of the popular imagination for hundreds of years, with many paying a heavy price because of accusations of black magic. However, it wasn’t until the early 20th century that the modern pagan religion known as Wicca was born.

Throughout the years, interest in witchcraft has ebbed and flowed, but it is now experiencing a resurgence and the age groups most captivated by it appear to be Millenials and Generation Z.

  1. Yikes. As a practicing pagan and witch I find this report to be pretty cringey. Something I would have expected in the 90s when The Craft came out. I thought we were past this gawking and low level ridicule. Guess not. Pagans outnumber Presbyterians in the US now but I guess that doesn’t get respect yet.

  9. If there’s something that you need you can pray to God for it. Witchcraft is basically achieving things by demonic forces through the supernatural realm. Demons having been cast out of heaven are the enemy of God. So it doesn’t make any sense to be unfaithful to God and reaching out to witchcraft in order to achieve our goals. Thats why the bible clearly states that witchcraft is an abomination to God. God is very loving and gave us His only Son to pay the price for our sin to be washed away though Jesus so we can spend eternity with Him. God wants us to be faithful to Him.

    – Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)
    -There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord.     Jesus loves you and wants you to accept Him as your saviour and spend eternity with Him. Jesus said: If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, keep My commandments. (John 14:14-15)

    The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

    I have been playing in the occult too and new age movement. However God convicted me and I repented. It’s dangerous. There are many testimonies out there that the moment someone leaves the occult and tries to turn to God that person gets harassed by demons. Because they want to keep souls away from the truth and rather drag them into sin. This also happened to me, I also experienced demonic harassment when I left the New Age movement (I thought I was being spiritual).

    For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

    He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God (John3:16)

  10. “Wiccans” or the hollywood witch? Wiccan’s are a harmless lot.. just another faith, and there is that whole religious freedom thing here in this supposed democratic society. Some members of Christianity and other faiths need to be reminded about this legal fact before speaking and acting against the written word of law.

  19. The rise of witchcraft may be happening right now because for now sex isn’t helping to sell quite as well during a pandemic. Witchcraft is only the art of deception which includes from makeup and little ‘white’ lies all throughout the whole continuum to emotional abuse through gas lighting which sometimes borders on physical abuse. Like when telemarketers ignore time zones or when the same telemarketer want to be his or her own start up next keeps on calling you on your telephone or who makes a call to you while you are on your computer or when your computer is working to do an update — Over and over again many times in one day which is a complete turnaround from last month, the month of September. Which of course would be more than just a bit annoying if it was while trying to keep track of a toddler while nursing a newborn at home alone or whatever. [Not my stage of life right now] Which is why I understand how difficult it must be for some parents during a pandemic.

    I was atheist for 28 years and converted 2 years ago. If you go to a quite place and ask for the lord to show him self in your life (and believe that it could happen, not that it will but could) and much like i had while in my garage in with my pistol right before i ended it all you will have a very freaky and eye opening experience i promise.

      Every pagan religion is connected which includes Islam and Catholics which are in fact pagan. Islam is more stealthy about it but well the name gives it away allah.
