  1. So it took me a few times (over a few days) to get into this one. I do feel it has a bit of autobiographical euphemism to it😜(and also remind me of an old Monkees song of the same title). In the end, I get the Parrish feel similar to Soul Jacker, which is not in my top 10 Eels albums (despite I adore his work with Polly Jean and solo LPs)…but it feels a little messy, and I decided I am okay with a messy Eels album🌈I’m ready for it!!!💯A man who can write a deep album like Cautionary Tales💖 and then write something a little messy like a Tom Waits Big in Japan feel, fur sure gets 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟(side note: why on earth did they not do a Boo COVID masks for 2 Halloweens?! They need a new marketing person. )

  2. FINALLY The Rockin’ Eels are BACK! Looking forward to them coming to Atlanta next year!!!

  3. Eels presents: Old Timey Railway Blues. The best kind of railway blues, just the way you like it.

  4. I love the Eels… I’m an early fan, but I have to say this song feels more like a failed b-side.

  5. I love this, nice one E! I’ve had the pleasure of standing on the Footplate of an 1912 Foden General Purpose Steam Engine No. 3384 Named “Wattie Pollock” it was Road going rather than Rail, but 1 of best experiences of my Life!

  6. I’m a huge Eels fan, I enjoy most of the albums (even Earth to Dora which had a mixed reception), but damn, these new songs feel terribly lazy and boring. I don’t get it, what happened to E ? Hope the rest of the album will be better than this, cause this is a huge let down for the moment…

    1. Burnt out 100%. E needs a few years out and to come back with something memorable. Not just release because he can…

    2. I love “good night on earth” but I admit this is slightly lacking in energy compared to earlier works

    3. @Noah Bigsby Wonderful Glorious was the last album I really liked – some great tunes on there. Shared writing credits with the rest of the band too – had a really natural fun energy to it.

    4. @Triodium Yep he probably needs a little break. Shame because I was really looking forward to him working with Parish again.

    5. As a long term super fan of E I’m going to buy two copies of this album to support him through this extraordinarily peculiar patch of not quite meeting his own high standards. ❤️

  7. Here’s an epic idea if you LOVE to SMILE. 💡
YOU HAVE TO WATCH PERFECT STRANGERS!!! It’s the FUNNIEST SHOW EVER!!! You will fall in love with the humor and cousin Balki, played by the comedy LEGEND, the one and only BRONSON PINCHOT!!! I LOVE BALKI SO MUCH!!!!! He is so adorable and funny! He will have you LAUGHING OUT LOUD!!!!! YOU WON’T REGRET IT!!!

P.S. It’s not streaming anywhere unless you want to buy it on Amazon, but there are some scenes on YouTube that won’t disappoint. The very first scene comes up if you look up “Larry meets Balki”! Now, that particular clip starts off boring, but just give it around 30 seconds to get HILARIOUS…
