  2. i don’t know how it called but we have that training apparatus for old people at our street on which you just move your legs back and forth w/o bending your knees, so a few days ago i as usually occupaited it but this time I didn’t look down at my legs and after that i was dizzy af, like i was on waves. how about that?

  3. “Skater boi”
Wannabe male skater, term widely used by “townies”, “trendies” and all form of wannabe punks/posers.

  4. Just want to mention some VR games are great for training your brain to handle things like this better.

  5. I suffer from motion sickness, if anyone even tried to spin me once I’d probably throw up.

  6. So, what about the opposite phenomenon when playing in VR? Is it just because the expectation of feeling motion isn’t happening so we’re confused until we’re sick?

  7. this is like..watching animal cruelty, three thoughts:
    -poor thing
    -stop it, stop it
    -you bastard 🙂

  8. Getting dizzy is kids’ first psychotropic experience and it is the gateway to hard stuff!!

  9. i get motion sickness just trying to read something in a car. no way i’m trying this experiment.

  10. How many noticed that the thumbnail back ground kind of looks like pewdiepie’s signature design?

  11. I wonder, though, why do some people enjoy stimulating their vestibular sense, often via roller coasters, merry-go-rounds, or the aforementioned office chairs? And why do many people like it when they are young, but not when they are older? Edit: I am thinking about not the mechanics of why happens, but why we derive pleasure from the experience and go forth to seek it? And why we don’t get the same pleasure when we’re older?

    1. that’s a good question, I wanna know too, but people are only explaining how it happens and not what you asked, the WHY it happens 🤔🤔

    2. I think it’s because they have a more desensitized vestibular sense so it brings more sensation than is normal?

    3. I think iirc there’s some part of the inner ear, that helps keep your sense of balance, that degrades basically as you get older, so you don’t recover from the nausea after spin-y rides, etc. as quickly and just stay unsettled and dizzy. Or something like that.

    4. Idk I’m pretty scared of roller coasters but when I rode some, I wasn’t dizzy. I think that might be because of the air and the fact that you are falling a lot and your brain might be more focused on surviving and making you go into a fight or flight response? Idk if what I said even makes sense

  12. You can also get fluid in the ear! That’ll make you dizzy, no spinning required!

Also make you unsafe to drive for a while!

  13. What about dizziness caused by things without visual components, like a sinus infection or migraine?

    1. Etterra interference with the signals throws your brain out in the same way motion does.

  14. When I saw someone other than Joe in the thumbnail,I was ready to unsubscribe then I read the title

  15. I used to suffer a lot from motion sickness when in a car but it got a lot better when I got a license and started driving myself. I’d love to know more about that

  16. Dizziness is a huge political problem in the US. Unfortunately the vestibular lobby is so powerful and has so much money nothing will ever be done about it. It makes one’s head spin.

  17. Why do the dizzies feel a different level of weird? Is it because we are kind of used to one of them (through cars)?

  18. Horizontal Nystagmus… this is what police officers look for when they ask a subject to follow their finger during a field sobriety test; an involuntary sign someone has when they are intoxicated by alcohol or drugs.

    1. Had this without drinking or doing drugs. Along with Central Vertigo that is. 3 month recovery. It’s really bad, you feel like this is not your body and you just started using it 😀

    2. Postrotatory Nystagmus in this case, the terms Left/rigth beating (horizontal) and down/up beating (vertical) are not longer used to the best of my knowledge

  19. Is it possible then to build up a tolerance to motion sickness with repeat exposure on a daily basis?

  20. I get dizzy *REALLY* easily with my head in the normal upright position. But I learned long ago to look up (head tilted back) and I won’t get as dizzy. Is that a normal “it’s harder to get dizzy that way,” or does that mean one direction of my semicircular canals isn’t as sensitive as the others?

  21. I never get motion sickness. But I recently had to go to an ENT to get earwax cleaned that was deeply embedded in my ear and affecting my hearing. The doctor did this by essentially sucking the wax out of my ear. It made me feel *extremely* nauseous and I almost passed out, probably from the pressure difference in my inner ear. I’m guessing this is how people with motion sickness feel.

  22. The construction of those semicircular canals is one of those facts that really sticks in my brain and makes me absolutely marvel at the power of evolution. On a macro level, evolution makes sense to me – different skin colours, the placement of the limbs etc. all makes intuitive sense. I understand how a creature logically responds to environmental pressures and incorporates those attributes. But a series of tubes on either side of your head, each oriented to a different axis and filled with fluid, the movement of which your brain is able to effortlessly decipher without even a moment of conscious thought? That’s incredible. That blows my mind. It forces me to confront the true scale of what evolution is and can do.

    Frankly, it’s kind of beautiful.

    1. Exactly!! It’s why I want to go into genetics! I want to find out all the why’s and how’s for these things!!😁

    2. Yup, it’s hard to fathom how amazing natural selection is, but that’s mostly because it’s hard for us to fathom how much TIME it took to make these amazing things. Yeah, we can say and understand it took millions, maybe billions of years… but we can’t REALLY grasp how long that is. We just now it’s “a lot” of time. But man… it’s so much time that nature could make creatures like us just by interacting with itself for that long.

      It’s incredible.

    3. The human body is the most complex machine on this planet…. and even I have the same thought process as yours… btw I am a Biology student 👨‍🎓!

  23. I don’t like the new setting/ place you films. I miss the old one. Just wanted to say that I prefer the old version, so many distracting things in the background. Still awesome content, just miss the old setting AND intro!

  24. Does this mean that if i spin around 10 times so the hair cells in my canal goes one way and then spin around 10 times the other way does that mean…i’ll sort of…’equalize’ because my hair cells will be back to normal and won’t be dizzy?

    1. That woman is liven on the edge of the bell curve. Talented, gorgeous and brilliant. Please have 12 kids…we need more of your kind.

  25. The hair cell firing graph shouldn’t move faster, the spikes/lines should just be closer together while being bent. Not a huge deal, but it’s wrong.

    1. Your body has the same reaction to being dizzy as it does to being poisoned. One of the ways your body tries to correct this is by vomiting to get rid of whatever is causing the illness. I don’t know all the details but that is basically what is happening.

  26. I think i know all these typs of dizziness.
As a kid we lay down on a swing and the other one swirled the ropes until you couldn’t go on.
And than just let it go. It makes you really dizzy.
For us, it was like riding a rollercoaster 😀
We tried it in all directions, because one would get boring after a few times….
